5Biological Science III (BIO3) Class Test 1
6PCC Class Test
7BIO3 Class Test 2
9PCC Exam
9BIO3 Exam
10Term Break (16 Sep – 5 Oct 25)

This term, our Home-based Learning (HBL) is also held on every Thursday.

There will be a book sale on the coming Monday (14 July 2025) for those who which to repurchase.

Our modules for this term are PCC, BIO3, and Personal & Professional Development 2 (PD2). Just ignore the AI & ECO as this is a short module which I have taken last term. For your information, the PD2 will last for a semester (2 terms) for the 3-year Higher Nitec in Nursing while it will last for a term for 2-year Higher Nitec in Nursing.

On completion of the PCC module, students should be able to describe and demonstrate holistic nursing care of specific groups of patients (eg. Maternal and Paediatric), and those with various altered body systems such as musculoskeletal and central nervous system.

This module is graded based on the Phase Test (20%), the Class Test (15 MCQ, 3 SAQ, 1 SEQ—20%), the Exam (20 MCQ, 4 SAQ, 2 SEQ—50%), and the Behavioural and Attitudual Attributes (BAA—10%).

By drawing lots, I would have to perform Neurovascular Assessment (NVA) or Conscious Level Chart (CLC) for our Phase Test.

On completion of the BIO3 module, students should be able to identify and describe the various parts and functions of the system of the human body and discuss the use of pharmacological products and their nursing implications.

This module is graded based on Class Tests 1 and 2 (20 MCQ, 4 SAQ—20 % each), the Exam (30 MCQ, 6 SAQ—50%), and BAA (10%).

In the PD2 module, there are 6 competencies:
(1) Develop personal effectiveness in career
(2) Apply job-seeking skills
(3) SG Perspective: Acquire a responsibility towards Singapore’s future food security (and with jobopportunities in new industries)
(4) SG Perspective: Acquire an eco-sustainability mindset and a responsibility towards the environment (and with job opportunities in new industries)
(5) Prepare for job success
(6) Acquire personal financial literacy as a consumer

And it is graded based on:
(1) Assessment 1 (40%) – (a) Resume & (b) Job Interview
(2) Assessment 2 (30%) – Group Project (AV Presentation)
(3) Assessment 3 (30%) – BAA

Our CA is quite a new lecturer. However, he is specialised in Mental Health and have been with the organisation for over a decade. He is quite a chill person and because he is specialised in Mental Health, he does his teaching in a different way and I would say that I feel quite relaxed throughout the term. An additional information: Mental Health is the nursing speciality that I might be keen and currently, exploring.

I would say that PCC is much easier as compared to PCB and it goes the same for BIO3 as compared to BIO2. I have gotten the same lecturer again for BIO3.

This is a pretty short post, stay tuned and I will be back for Term 2.3.
